WHAT TYPE OF CLASSES DO YOU OFFER?

We offer a well-rounded, self-defense based curriculum that incorporates physical fitness exercises and emphasizes life skills such as respect, discipline and self-control. Our “A” schedule is based in stand up fighting and includes striking, blocking and self-defense techniques. Our “B” schedule is based on ground defense and includes takedowns, sweeps submissions and escapes. The “C” schedule is a rotating curriculum that incorporates techniques from a variety of martial arts styles and disciplines. See Class schedule here

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST CLASS?

No preparation is needed. Simply show up wearing comfortable workout clothes and our professional staff of Instructors will handle the rest. We recommend sweatpants/shorts and a t-shirt for kids and men, and leggings and a t-shirt with a sports bra for women. It is a good idea for adults to bring a water bottle and a workout towel. Be ready for a good workout and learn a skill that will change your life!

DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS?

Yes, we offer a Basic class for Juniors and Adults. No experience is required or necessary.

HOW MANY TIMES PER WEEK DO I ATTEND?

We recommend a minimum of two classes per week. Many adults like to attend three or more classes per week.

WHAT TIME ARE CLASSES?

We offer a variety of class times and a flexible schedule to meet individual needs.

HOW MUCH ARE YOUR PROGRAMS?

Classes are affordable and we offer different enrollment options to try and accommodate any budget. Remember, you are making an investment in yourself and/or your child. It is hard to put a value on personal development!

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM GOING TO A GYM?

Most people can’t stick with a gym membership. 95% quit after the first month. At Striking Balance, you get a complete workout in a class setting that is challenging but fun and exciting to attend.

WHAT AGE DO YOU CHILDREN START CLASSES?

Our youngest Program, the LiL’ Dragons, is designed for students 5 and 6 years of age.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?

Yes, we offer discounts for additional family members and believe “Families that kick together, stick together.” We also proudly offer discounts for military and first responders.

IS SPARRING REQUIRED?

No, sparring and contact are not required. We offer separate classes for those who want to participate in sparring.

WILL MY CHILD LEARN TO BE AGGRESSIVE?

Absolutely not. We teach self-defense, not self-offense. Students at all ages learn to respect the skills they develop from training at our school.

WHAT KIND OF MARTIAL ARTS DO YOU TEACH?

Our striking program is based on boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, Karate and Tae Kwon Do. Our ground defense program combines wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu techniques, as well as law enforcement tactics.
